The level 4 Client Project for 427 Wing

Origins and Legacy of the 427 Wing Building Constructed in 1940, the building now occupied by the 427 (London) Wing originally served as a canteen for airmen stationed at RCAF Crumlin. It provided meals and a place to relax for those involved in flight training and navigation programs under the BCATP. As such, it supported the operations of both the No. 3 EFTS and No. 4 AOS. Today, this historic structure is one of the last remaining wartime buildings in use on the former station grounds. It serves as the headquarters for the 427 (London) Wing of the Royal Canadian Air Force Association—a group committed to preserving aviation history, advocating for veterans, and educating the public. The building also houses the Spirit of Flight Museum, which features artifacts and displays related to Canadian military aviation. Outside, the Spooner Memorial Garden provides a peaceful space dedicated to those who served.
